Honestly unless you're a fab wizard, the 2zz becomes the only choice that MIGHT work with that budget.

If i had $2k to dump into an MR-S and $2k only, i probably wouldn't swap the motor. I'd probably do basic breathing modifications, and work on suspension and other things that would make the overall response better. (I've driven one of these with hard aftermarket motor mounts. AWESOME.)

I have done some suspension work already and am looking for more speed. I have a couple buddies that have a lot of fab experience. However, you guys have convinced me that I am stretching. Old skewl and I are talking 2zz.

A bone stock 2ZZ will put you at about the same power to weight as an NSX.
