Well, I know I can get a couple hours of quality time every time a GRM comes in...as also a Speedway catalog. But then I've been reading everything set before me since I learned to read. It's remarkable what one can learn from a cereal box or a phonebook....Maybe I'm not the best reference for 'What to ask for...'

Carroll Smith's engineer to win is the best "car building" book I've read. FULL of must know info.

That might explain it. I'm about 1/3 of the way through.

Oh, and a second vote for "The Unfair Advantage" by Mark Donahue. One of the few books I've read and re-read.

I'm a big short track racing fan, sometimes even a participant whenever possible. A few of my favorite books are: "Engineer to Win" by Carroll Smith, "How To Become A Winning Crew Chief" by Larry McReynolds, "Steady Eddie" by Bones Bourcier, and "Richie!" by Bones Bourcier. Ed Flemke and Richie Evans were the two best Nascar modified drivers ever. Thier stories and impact on all of Nascar racing are amazing. It's also a fantastic look at how racing was back in the 60s and 70s. By far the best book I've read in years is "Mickey Thompson The Fast Life and Tragic Death of a Racing Legend" by Erik Arneson. So much I had no idea about with Mickey. I read this book twice in the first two weeks I got it.

Definitely "Go Like Hell." Amazing book.
