It sounds dangerous man. That's how everything sounds to the uninformed. I mean, would YOU run a trailer rim and tire in an autocross car? No. Cause it's dangerous as hell. But I've ran them on dune buggies and go karts without issue. If you say it's fine I guess it could be. It sounds like you have experience, and obviously I don't. So I'll look into it.

A trailer hub for a 3500 lb axle is meant to support 3500lbs of vehicle, per axle. Your car weighs something like half that per axle (probably less), so twice as strong as it needs to be. Ditto on the wheels, it's all super heavy duty stuff in terms of cars.

Have moser or yukon make you the axles you need for your lug pattern.

Have the stock axles redrilled and the hub machined down
