But he drove it right through the traps. 

He made it through one of the most dangerous eras of drag racing in one of the most dangerous classes without a scratch.   But ultimately it was being forced to slow down that did him in.

Anyone who drove and survived Fuel Altereds is a man among men. That photo of him crossed up and smoking the tires is the coolest, ever.

Looks like he got the full ride.  If he was 25-ish years old in these 1966 magazines then he was 80-ish today. 

I'm sorry he is gone but I am also glad he was here!
