If it's powered by an SBC, that's frenchy's arch-nemesis right there.

Wait ... what?  Are you a Jaguar fan?  Won't be long until he's inducted. September I think.

Shame to do that to a Jag.

Now butchering this flying doorstop seems entirely excusable.... (I snapped this when I came across it on a back road excursion).

As a new inductee into the Old Man's Car Club, I reject this hooliganism that has been cast upon an otherwise proper country club car.

I kinda like that.   But then I also like XKE's that are painted like a British flag.
PS I'm not really a purist.  I just think  some things are about free expression and some are just in poor taste.

I once combined a boat tail Riv. with a K10 Blazer so I'm not going to criticize.

Harry Metcalf's XJC V12 w/manual transmission.  Go to YouTube to hear the best sounding car in his garage.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_GNk0Yn6lg

Somebody vacations here on the OBX with an S10 framed Silver Cloud III(appears to me). It wears a rod-rack and is regularly driven on the beach. I love it.

Thanks for that - the V12 sounds superb!  It reminds me of my vintage Lambo after I removed a couple of resonators from the exhaust!

That XJC is quite pretty but I have never understood how anyone could like those wheels.  I know they're original but they always looked so, well, ugly to me.  And they were around for a long time.

I really don't understand the desire to change something on a car as beautiful as the XJC.   Sir William who's other contributions to the automotive scene is  also the creator of the SS 100 XK120, D type Jaguar,  XKE, XJ6/12 XJC, XJS.
Personally I would put wire wheels on everything  I just love the sparkle of chrome wires and knock offs.  I digress.
I think we have to appreciate the different time  various cars were designed.   To update with different wheels likely different diameters not only will devalue the car accordingly but likely  not an improvement in appearance.
   Your opinion may vary.

That's how I feel about the early-gen Jaguar F-Type. People change the wheels, add wings, lower them, etc, but I look at the cars as rolling art as-designed. (I've even thought about disabling the rear wing that pops up at-speed because I think it detracts from the car's lines.)

In one of his videos, Harry touches on his choice of wheels.  He said he has gotten a lot of suggestions for other wheels but likes them because they're original to the car and its era.  He didn't want to go with something more modern or low profile, he feels the car rides and handles best on them.  Anyway, it's his car and he thinks they look good, so that's all that matters.
