I can't believe how nice the interior came out with a couple of hours with some cleaners and a vacuum cleaner. I know this is a Classic Motorsports project, but thought you would like to see it. Outside doesn't look bad and its starting to run pretty well too. Calloway turbo makes for a fast little bunny.

Looking good!
I had the same color combo in really nice condition and absolutely loved it. Honestly is the only car I wish I could have back again; I imagine the turbo makes it just that much more fun...
Remember your old friend with deep pockets when it is time for you to pass it on?
Did that car come from south Florida??
Back in the mid to late 90's I lived with my brother in an apartment complex and our neighbor had one just like that. He was British in his 30s.
I had an '87 GTI 16v back the and the little Callaway GTI was quicker. I wonder what happened to that car and my neighbor, lost touch many years ago.
IMO the coolest car from the year i graduated HS. I'd prefer silver, but that is one crisp machine you've got there.
I'm a big fan of these with blue interiors!
That is a nice VW. That would leave me 7th or 8th in line for it?

Wow that's an awesome little piece.
"Hey GTI, you so fine. You so fine you blow my mind, hey GTI."- someone from the 80's.
Cashmere White is the absolute best MK1 GTI color.
The "Unleaded Fuel Only" decal by the gas cap brings back memories. I had a 77 Scirocco with the same decal.
Who remembers the reducer you could put on the end of the leaded gas nozzle to fit in your unleaded only vehicle.
Man I miss those seats! Also, I can still smell my old GTI.

I am pretty sure his name was Jules. He went by Chef Jules as he was a Chef.

I remember my dad yanking the restrictor thingie off his 79 F-150 so he could fit the leaded gas nozzle in there.
Awesome GTI. Honorable mention goes to it's trunkated brother, the Jetta GLI. My first import and what officially turned me away from the domestics.
It is indeed a beauty. I wasn't the biggest fan in the 80s and 90s. I was a fool.
That's rad. Are the seats as comfortable as they look?

Mk1 smell almost like a bug...but more or less oil smell depending if diesel.
mk2 smell totally different, hard to describe.
mk3 smell like melting crayons.
Do modern cars even have scents? Will they develop them as they age?
Calloway turbo? Still using the fueling from that kit? Gonna megasquirt it? Looks like a really nice survivor, those are worth a ton of cash now
I don’t remember there being two different whites for GTIs. Is this a repaint? Or maybe we didn’t get it in Canada?
