i thought i knew cars, and beyond that i thought i knew nissan.
i somehow JUST NOW saw one of these...
it's like a station wagon G35 thing, or a slammed RWD FX35 if you will. a brief scan of ebay shows them selling for less than either one.
called an EX35.
it called to mind the recent thread about IS300 wagon's. more than one person thought they didn't have enough power. VQ35 to the rescue!
Ya it seems to have slipped under the radar for me too. It does look very interesting at first glance.
odd... off my radar as well
I never see these on the roads. I also forget the EX35 existed.
FX35 is sorta ugly, but does have the nice VQ exhaust note. Also it does indeed look 10x better with some nice wheels and a drop. (actually, what doesnt?)
I want FX45 because ludicrous.

What the hell. There's an EX35?
My sister has one (just into her second year of a lease) and likes it pretty well. It's plenty fast, torque-vectoring AWD makes it safe, and the gas mileage sure beats her former Trollblazer. Only problem so far was some sort of magic rock that bounced just right and took out her front camera: the dealer said it was a 1-in-a-million shot, and they were so surprised they didn't charge for labour to fix it (but the part was a couple of hundred bucks.)
Meh. I've seen a few around.
I don't think a lowered SUV is a replacement for wagon goodness. Looks like Nissan's shot at the Crosstour.
This thread made me look into replacing my Cherokee with an FX45.
I was getting halfway excited.
Then i saw it's only rated to tow 3500lbs.
What the E36 M3?

at least you can get this RWD
I guess RWD does give it bonus points.
furthermore, the potential for some parts interchangeability with the 350Z
Well, I THINK it was the front camera. Could have been the rear camera, but I don't think so. These things are pretty gadget-heavy when you want the tech package, which she did. Sort of an Enterprise shuttle bay vibe when you are parking with the cameras (instead of, like, looking out the damn window) but it strikes me as an answer looking for a question. OTOH, it's not my car, and she's a techie.
It will hold as much stuff as she needs it to, including large oddly-shaped items on occasion.
One thing I definitely DON'T like is that some nutjob designer decided to bury the rear turn signals in the bumper. Thanks, genius. Good luck intuiting the intentions of any EX driver who isn't the car directly ahead of you in traffic.
Been a few months, but I used to seem in abundance in southern Florida. They look kind of bland on the road, but if you can get one cheap enough I can see the potential.
Can this be had with a real transmission?

Yep, I've never seen nor heard of the EX35 either. Weird.
