Yep, I believe that Mini Tec rolled that out this past Spring. They had a couple of early vid's of it going through snow (though not much snow).

Looks pretty sweet, I'd like to see what paint job they put on it.

I'm no chassis expert, but it looks like it would be nose heavy. Is that not the case?

Uhm, it is a FWD based car, by definition they nose heavy. Stiffen the rear enough and you can drive via throttle!

My Mini had about 62% front weight, stock. Well, mostly stock. With the extra drivetrain in the rear, this one might actually improve on that.

If you'd come to the Mitty, you would have seen some of those VTEC Minis in person If my A-series gives out, I'll look at the option. Unfortunately, they don't seem to package well in a RHD roundnose without extending the front of the car.

AWD Mini is super-cool!

That's why I want to see an Austen America done like that. It is, after all, just an oversized Mini. I think it would fit better.

I want it, I'm sure it's a blast to drive. Could be a nice all weather car for our Canadian winters!

I was pretty impressed, but then I saw the last two pictures of the PTO and the rear diff. Awesome.

Paint?

Screw that!

Leave it as it sits and tell everyone it's so fast that paint won't stick.

Have you guys seen the episode of MegaWorld: Sweden? A group of engineers from Getrag built a AWD system for the new Minis and were testing it there in the Artic Circle. Minute: 30m:49s

So even in a 4WD Honda powered Mini-the answer is still Miata!
