222.9" for the Olds. That is more that 18.5ft
1990 Miata is 155.4" or nearly 13ft. That leaves 5.5ft.
The Olds is almost 1.5 times longer than the Miata
Olds 80" wide
Miata 65.9" wide
The Olds is 1ft 2in wider than the Miata
Could not find weight but both cars were standard with 14" rims
What about seats from a full sized truck with integrated shoulder belts? Too tall? Just thinking out loud....
just to go ahead and beat the dead horse a bit more, if you don't think the b-pillar is sturdy enough to hold onto a seatbelt, then it definitely won't be able to hold up the weight of the car if it rolls over and the 4-point belt hold you upright in the seat.
Love it. Our neighbor had a similar 88 sitting in the old polebarn, along with a lot of vintage Sun machines and circle track gear. I loved that thing and dreamed of fixing it up.

My Miata is an '06, so it's a bit bigger than the NA. I haven't parked the car next to the Miata yet, but I moved it last night and put it next to one of the Fiats (waiting for the new owner to come pick them up). I need to get a picture. It's hilarious.
As big as the Olds is, I'm surprised that it only weighs 3950, at least according to the info I could find. There are lots of cars today much smaller that weigh much more. The 14" rims look cool, but the tires are super tall. Maybe I should put some wide whitewalls on it.
Thanks again guys for the safety thoughts. As I've said several times, I totally understand the car will never be "safe" by modern terms. I'm just looking into seeing if I can improve on what's there. Hadn't thought of the idea of the seats that had the shoulder belts integrated. Don't know if that would work or not.

The integrated belts come on lots of Chevy trucks in the 2000-2006 range. The mounts are flat and fairly evenly spaced.
ididit or Flaming River, etc, probably have a collapsible steering column for swapping into cars like that. A faster ratio steering box and then a waltz through the Hotchkiss and Addco catalogs will probably give you all the handling you need.
And seats with integrated belts seems like a really good solution, just strengthen the mounting.
