On my freshly built 351w, I have installed original iron heads to the iron block and have torqued the heads to 120fps as required in my many manuals. In my reading, there has been no mention of re-torquing the heads when hot.
the stupid question is, do I need to re-torque the heads when they are hot?
Please let me know, I would hate to need to tear it down again
I have to answer your stupid question with one of my own: why did you torque them at approx 80 mph? Sorry, I am fairly certain that you meant ft lbs. No idea as to the answer if that is the case.
Holy crap I got that joke!
I often retorqued Windsor head bolts after initial heat cycling but only because I am a hack and don't trust my own work.
I did it on older engines. But when I blew the head gasket on my last Honda I was told not to because it used stretch bolts and they were one use only.

There is no such thing as a stupid question. There is such a thing as stupid timing for questions.
If you posted the question, "Should I have re-torqued my heads when they were hot?" after you were having problems with the heads sealing, that would be stupid timing.

Thanks for the comments,
Meant to put Ft lbs not fps.
No problem yet, just want to be sure that it is required or not before I have a problem. everything I have read mentions nothing about it.
Shim-type gasket - Maybe. Composite-type gasket - probably not.
