Finally got a freakin Saturday off of work and decided to go canoing (saw a bunch of Gators!) in the morning and finish up my interior the rest of the day.

I had already put the dynamat down over the past week or two, wired up some new mid-bass drivers (single voice coil, but damn they sound way better than stockers).

Got new carpet from non-sponsor, although none of the sponsors on here offer it I'm going to list their name! auto-interior.com. I had used stockinteriors.com before on my LT1 Trans Am interior projects. It was ok, but didn't fit well no matter what I did and well I just wanted to try somewhere else. This carpet came with a pre-cut hole for shifter, e-brake, ect so it made the initial insertion of the carpet very easy. Very impressed with the carpet, nice and soft, really dampens a lot of road noise and so on.

While I had most of the interior out I also decided to use some SEM interior paint to fix up my faded dash. I had also used this on my LT1 project and it works great as long as you clean the painting surface very well and use plastic adhesive before hand. We used a real paint gun and not rattle cans. Looks way better. Any who, here are the pics, I doubt half of you will even read this.

What's the strategery behind the seemingly random dynamat? Did you get a deal on a pile of leftover pieces, or was it one of those things where you go for a ride and have the passenger put some where the noise/heat is coming from?

Looks much better. I've never seen a GM dash from that vintage get faded that bad, that thing must have seen some serious sun. I like that dash design a lot, it's one of the better looking dashes that guys have swapped into Fieros and it also keeps it in the (Pontiac) family.

Yes that was the strategy with the dynamat. Plus I only wanted to buy one package and use most of it for the doors and hatch since thats where most of the noise comes from. I really don't think it's necessary to plaster it over every square inch of the interior. Their is absolutely no road noise in the cabin now. I can barely even here my exhaust and thats with Longtubes and a Cam!
