It was awesome. Everything I dreamed it would be, and I plan to go again in the future. I highly recommend this trip for any other car nuts.
I finally did a write-up and have it up on my blog: http://brewercameron.wordpress.com/2012/08/09/ring-of-power/
I hadn't thought of the motorcycles being an issue. That would scare the crap out of me. Sounds like a good-time-had-by-all though and everyone survived, lol.
Nice blog btw - I'd like to try that Devil's Haircut someday.

I plan to make it (or something based very closely off of it) my flagship if I start a brewing company. Might change the name (for intellectual property reasons) and adjust the recipe slightly to use a hop that is more reliably available.
And I would gladly buy your beer. Lots of it. Perhaps becoming a beervangelist
Its on my bucket list.... only problem is my bucket has too many holes
Nice! Isn't Hotel Tiergarten the Schmitz family's place?

Congratulations on both the ring and the Brewmaster ticket. That is not a trivial course. Would like to hear more about what all was required for the curiculum.
I ran a unique little brewery here in London and it took a lot of my engineering and chemical education to fully understand the process.
As to the ring, I am always amazed that there is not more carnage. The ring and the isle of man have got to be one of the few venues where you are still allowed to take responsibility for your own destiny!

You can PM me for any questions you may want to ask. An online journal interviewed me a couple of weeks ago primarily about the brewing school, and that might answer some of your questions: http://breweryjobshq.com/2012/08/09/brewmaster-interview-cameron-lloyd/
If you have any more technical details you want to know about what we focused on and learned in the course, let me know. Touring breweries on my trip through Belgium, I realized just how much more technical information I'd gained when I'm getting excited about things like the external mash cooker at one brewery ("Wow! It's like all the advantages of decoction and infusion mashing together in a fairly simple and energy efficient single system!").

"decoction" and " Infusion" in the same sentence! We can now move on to floculation! Who knew that seaweed was so critical tobeer making?
Love to know your take on chill haze and wheat beers.
I am pretty much out of the brewing scene having moved to Cardiology of all things. Those guys don't want us to have ANY fun. The cadiologist moto should be "If it taste good spit it out"!
Good news is that we have a facility in Maastricht so I get the odd trip where I can explore the hops.
Sorry to the rest for the off-topic stuff. But Beer is kinda central to this hobby no?

Wow! Thanks for the write-up, which is further cementing the Nurburgring into my To-Do list.
