On my '18 Fist.
Today while checking that my 15" wheel/snow tire clear the caliper, there was a small box bolted to the strut, no wires or visible label.
Any body know what it is ?
Oh , the wheels clear the caliper.

I believe that is just a NVH damper. And yeah, 15" wheels clear the brakes just fine. I have a set of 15" first gen focus wheels for my winter setup.
It's known to be some kind of damper, the exact purpose isn't known. Could be to reduce NVH, could be an unsprung tuned mass damper.
I tried going to ford parts to see what they called it. couldn't connect to specific vehicle usin VIN.
I heard you like dampers, so I put a damper on your damper so you could... uh...
... (crickets)
Anyway, funny story about 15" wheels and the FiST. Somebody who shall remain nameless enquired to the RX Rules Dude (I do not remember exact title, I am sick and propped up on amazing meds right now) about being allowed to run 15" wheels on his FiST in Stock class, since the spare tire was a full size 15" wheel/tire assembly and therefore it was stock.
My official opinion was that he may run one (1) spare tire in any capacity, be it on the car or in the trunk, or even in the paddock since removing the spare tire is legal. But he could not run four since the car did not come with four of them from the factory.
I felt that this is an eminently fair decision, since the spare tire is apparently not a temporary spare (which is illegal to run in any class) yet a competitor may experience a tire malfunction through the normal course of events and it is unreasonable to expect someone to come prepared with a second set of full sized tires, so why not be able to run a non-temporary spare tire?
I think the rest of the committee felt you could not do that even as a onesie, and I don't know what the official ruling was.
