My '96 has an inner tie rod that's going bad(power steering). I bought a set of Moog parts that were supposed to fit, but the threads on my steering rack are fine-thread, while the Moog parts are coarse.

I'd bought them from someone else, so I called up Napa and ordered a set. They just arrived & they're also coarse. :(

Does anyone have the P/N I need???

The manual racks use one thread and the power racks use the other. If you can find someone who lists both separately, then you'll be able to get the one you need. Or try a Miata specialist such as Medcenter Mazda.

Thanks Keith! Napa shows separate parts for manual vs power, but the specs show the only difference is the manual rack has an 18mm thread while PS is 17mm.

Mine is 17mm, but the pitch is different.

I'll try Medcenter Mazda once I get all the details together.

I know they're different, but I thought it was the pitch. Medcenter will know, though.

Odd. Using Rockauto's web site, it looks like the Moog and Mevotech tie rod ends are coarse threaded. The Beck/Arnley and Raybestos units are fine threaded. This is going by the pictures.

I have two power racks I have gutted, both had fine thread inner TR's.

In reply to Curmudgeon:

Thanks, that's good to know!

I know de-powering Miata racks is pretty common, but I was beginning to wonder if someone had done the opposite.
