Runs super rich on all cylinders. Car only has 75k miles and largely original. My go-to is the coolant temp sensor, but I can't even find the darn thing. Not a terribly user friendly engine bay here. Maybe if I was used to looking at them, but everything is just a liiiiittle hard to reach. Anybody familiar with these?
The CHTS is my go to, not always the sensor but the wire pigtail and connector can be issues as well. The CHTS is located on the front of the drivers side cylinder head, just below the timing gear towards the center of the engine, it's a bit tricky to get to, one of only a couple of jobs that are more difficult on the Z31 than the Z32.Follow the wire harness off the distributor behind the timing cover that goes to the CHTS. Also check your O2, again look at the wires as well as the connector, also the Fuel temp sensor, all of these can cause a rich condition, the CHTS can cause it to run so rich it floods out at idle when warm. Have you pulled codes yet? the CHTS doesn't always shoot the code as it should but the O2 and FTS usually pop up.
