For the rally e30, would like to install a couple NACA ducts in the rear side (lexan) windows in order to get better airflow on transit, street driving, and track events. However, during dusty stage rallies, probably will not want them sucking in any air. I've looked around a bit, but does anyone know if there are NACA ducts that have closable covers or caps for the inner opening, or any other good way to close them off to stop airflow (and other weather) from getting in when not in use?

What about just slapping some racing tape over them?

I have similar thoughts for ventilation on the XR4Ti- a simple single piece solution might be something like these scoops:  aircraft "kool scoops"

The ultimate would be NACA ducts leading into 3" hose, with blast gates (basically a slide valve), inline filters, and bilge blowers ducted to the harness holes in the seats.

Pretty much get the right size nerf ball and stuff it in the hole. Poke a string through it with a couple of washers if you want to have something to pull on to remove them. Same deal with pool noodle foam or a dirt track mud plug cut into small cylinders. Basically you are making an ear plug for the duct.

I saved the pieces we cut out of the windows to mount the ducts and taped them in place when we needed them closed.

Just to follow up on this....I found a 4-pack of foam baseballs at Target that are a perfect fit :) Can stuff them in the 3" hole from either end.
