searching coupons, waiting and waiting for a deal, has netted a deal almost as cheap as the bargain basement china tires.
wound up with goodyear assurance tires for $377 shipped on 4, new from discount tire direct because they had a $100 off $400+ ebay purchase coupon code.
Intresting re the Fusion tires and people kicking them to the curb. I put a set of touring tires on the Mustang and I don't have any issues with them. They are a touring tire after all and that is what they do best. Eating up the miles on the highway. Decent in rain (no compaints from me) They are eating up the miles with out showing any kind of abnormal ware. Are they as good as the Michelins on the Porsche or the conti's on the truck? Hell no but they were about 1/4 the price. They are an appliance tire for appliance cars at an appliance price. I don't understand people that try and compare these kinds of tires to the $200 each tires. There is no comparison. It is like comparing the most recent Porsche 918 to 70's MG. I like the Fusions for what they are. I was actually going to see if they make some sort of a street tire that has a bit more performance and give those a try next time.
I get new 215 65 15's for about $58 delivered to the shop I some times help out at on weekends. Another note if this means anything. They balanced up very well. Used very little weight to get them in spec. And for those that care Fusion's are made by Bridgstone.

Had a set of nankang ns-ii's in 225-45-18 on my cobalt. They were decent, if a little loud. They lasted me 3 years and if they hadn't taken a nail I'd still be running them.
