Just starting to look for 4x100 wheels for the Challenge Corolla. 6" isn't too hard to find,or 5.5" steelies maybe, but what cars might yield narrower ones? Do any use a 15"x ? aluminum spare?

I think the Miata daisy wheels are a 5.5" alloy. E30 wheels are also available but I think both the bottlecap and basketweave wheels are 6". All are 14" diameter IIRC.

Pretty sure I'll need 15" to clear the Miata sport brake discs I'm using. I did find a pair of Smart Car front wheels and tires, but I'm not bright enough to figure out how to use a 3x112.5 bolt pattern. 
Im only finding SSR's in 15x4.5 in 4x100 i can find 13x4.5 in 4x100(vw rabbit, caddy, 80's civics, crx, etc) but you might be able to find some donuts that will work.
Modern Mini Coopers came with a compact spare. Not aluminum, rather steel but 15" and 4x100.

How about spare rims from a Miata?
The new Mirage has 14x5 rims in 4x100. They might have a 15" option.
Otherwise try Yaris or the baby Prius.
Tons of Mini Cooper Wheels will fit that bill. They even sell a really cool steely for snows in 15x6 that are super cheap brand new.
I was going to suggest looking into donut spares and possibly the wheel portion of the winter wheel/tire combos that tirerack offers.
Im in the same boat. Donut spares from the miata is my light/narrow solution. However, what to do about tires?????

What is the goal here? Minimum weight? Rolling resistance? Width to fit some weird bodywork?
Original VW beetle had 15x4.5 iirc. Not 4x100 though

If the spares are a 15" wheel then front tires from a Smart will work.They're 155/60/15

Goal is to find a light, narrow combo to run down the strip at the Challenge. If push comes to shove I'll just use some 6x15 miata wheels and conventional sized tires like a 175-60-15, but narrower and lighter would be a touch better.

Check out the aluminum spare wheel from a fox mustang. May have to redrilled but they are light and skinny.
Yep check out what the budget drag guys are using on their forums.. I want to say there were some using rx7 spoked aluminum spares, but not sure if those are re-drillable. As prodarwin says you could try to find aluminum adapters for wide 5 bug skinnies. Or use other pattern adapters.. I know for a fact 15x4 alloy spares can be as light as 9 pounds each as I have a pair.. but mine are not in 4x100.

VW bug is 4 x 130 , but how about 924 Porsche which is 4 x 100 , and old water cooled VWs are 4x100
and if you need to change offsets you can have a wheel shop cut them apart and change the outer width or the offset.
most of the temp spares are only 4 inch wide and funny offset
Miata spares from a car with Sport brakes. IIRC they're a larger diameter than the non-Sport.. And I'd just run the space savers on them. From an article in C+D way back, they're only speed limited because they wear so fast and the manufacturers want you to take them off ASAP. It's not like heat buildup will be a problem on a couple of drag runs.

I don't know if this will help or not but we did runs with 275/35/18 autocross fronts and then 215/60/16 fronts. No difference in times.
I am guessing you were not driving a Corolla with those 275-35-18 front tires.

Problem is tom asked the Gainesville raceway guys and they said no temporary spare tires. Wheels are fine but not tires. Kinda blows because the tires that came on my spares for front wheels are better brand and quality than what will likely end up on them

Extra front wheels and tires will be one of the last things I do, budget permitting. If I use the car after the Challenge I'll have something more appropriate than 9" wide Hoosiers to push down the strip.
