I know there are a lot of NASCAR haters here, and I'm not a big fan but I'll probably watch the truck race tonight at Eldora. They've brought in a handful of dirt track ringers but the trucks still have way more power than grip. It could be entertaining.
No could be about the entertainment. They were only just getting half throttle in yesterdays practice. Passing will probably be accomplished by attrition of others...

Wow, is there a time on this freakshow? I'll watch that.
How many laps is this? So it's like Sprint cars (as in dirt ones) with no aero over more laps with how many on track at the same time?
This could be fun.
Instead of 'Gentlemen start your engines', they should just shout 'Hay y'all watch this!' to get things going.
Man wish I had TV so I could watch that.

I realize you may be saying that in jest, but I love it.

The first time I ever felt the same way.

I grew up watching Tom Bigelow and other Indy guys race at Eldora. Up to a few years ago, this was the best-maintained track surface in the country. When Earl Baltes retired (sold,) he took with him the low-cost labor of dressing a clay track about 300 days a year. No track owner, not even Tony Stewart, can afford to pay someone to do what Earl did. Eldora still is, however, one of the best tracks in the country, and any racer worth his salt would like to have an Eldora trophy on his mantle. This race will have loads of competitive spirit in it. I just wish I were there...

i wish we had SPEED so i could set the dvr..
if it goes well, you can bet that it will be back on the schedule next year and the teams will build special trucks for the dirt. maybe they will add other dirt tracks, too..

I guess my minime is getting introduced to nascar tonight.
This seems like a good reason to go to the neighborhood bar and use their television.
a friend of mine is there, courtesy of his little brother who is an engineer on one of the teams. he said it's friggin' rad, and i believe him.
Years ago the Grand National aka -------Cup cars ran a 1/2 mile dirt track near me then the next night ran a .4 mile paved oval and continued on with dirt or paved ovals. All with the same cars.
I'll just put this here, you may be able to watch without cable

Worked for a little while then it said it reached the maximum number of streams for my country. I guess someone else tuned in
Edit: Refresh got it working again

This is good stuff, though I'm not seeing nearly as much sideways as I expected.
Goddamnit. If I had SPEED I'd totally watch. Rumor has it that Awesome Bill still runs at our local track, though I've never seen him there.
The bits I'm seeing look good but I have to refresh the page at least once every 2 minutes.
I would TOTALLY berkeleying watch that. What a hoot!

sweet.. now i've got something to watch at work..
Is there in truck cameras? That track is a mind game if you've never run between walls; they REALLY narrow and you can watch people back out as they come in between the walls.
Honestly I've just been glancing over at the screen, but I think I recall an in car (truck) shot.
...and it goes dead. Oh well.
we can't have any nice stuff..
