Here all this time I've been throwing them into two drawers labeled "abrasives, coarse" and "abrasives, fine" underneath the drawer that houses rasps and other such implements. That drawer is labeled "Lord of the Files."

Our in house file cabinet got 'hand-me-down'ed to the shop when we moved... I wasn't sure what it was going to get used for, but now I'm definitely stealing this idea!
Look up Camco Pop A Napkin. I used to have about 5 of these under the workbench at my old garage to keep 5" round abrasives.
Came here to learn a new better way although I thought my way was already pretty darn good. Discovered I've been doing it right for 20 years!
