As the title suggests, has anyone used a solid machine shop here? I need a block acid washed and cam bearings installed.

Many thanks

I work part time in a machine shop in Lake Worth and another different one in Delray Beach which is a bit farther for you. We have a nice new Snap On wash machine in Lake Worth. I do a lot of the block prep so most likely be me doing it. Lake Worth is    The Head Shop 561 702 0850   Dave the owner will answer the phone.  Located just off of Jog Rd.

For those who've never actually seen the type of washer machine shops use, here's a couple pics. They're like a high powered dishwasher for large car parts except that the nozzles are stationary and the parts are on a turntable. The turntable on this one can roll out  on the C channels you see in the pic till it's out over the drip tray so you don't rip your back muscles putting iron blocks and large iron diesel heads in/out. The center tree is removable for really big parts/blocks. The degreasing fluid is heated and the oils/grease is skimmed off automatically as the machine runs, sediment has to be cleaned out regularly.

You'll notice moving blankets covering the machine. It's warm enough here in S FL already without running the heated washer in the shop so they help insulate the machine so it doesn't heat the shop as much. In the summer it's best to run the machine later in the day so it can cool overnight otherwise the AC has to compete with the heat generated by the machine all day.
