I dug a little deeper and I am certain this was added to the car after it was bought. I took several pics and will post them up shortly. Still dont know what the hell it is though...

Is it possible that it was a mount for an alarm or aftermarket cruise control?

Definitely not factory. Probably for an aftermarket alarm or cruise.

I believe the car was equiped with cruise from the factory, judging by the wiring. The person who added a bunch of crap and converted to power windows sucked at wiring and its very apparent when something did not come on the car. Not the worst I have ever seen, but not pretty.

I am thinking you guys are dead on with the alarm guess. I will take that box apart and show ya'll whats inside.

Heres some more pics of this thing, definitely old.

Everything Removed:

This wire ran was running up the cruise control harness and capped, factory cruise control unit? :

Following red wire and black presumably ground wire...they were zip tied to a factory harness, at one point the wires were connected to a different set of two wires with butt connectors:

It disappeared under the brake booster, gave it a little tug and out came whats left of the wiring:

The internals of box:

I can't see the inside very well but if it has a spring that hits the wall when shaken it's a poor man's motion sensor for an alarm.

I think that is EXACTLY what it is! I will take it apart further though.

Thanks!
