Mini Jr. has a '96 Geo Prizm. To make a long story short, we're locked out, and have no keys, and local locksmiths won't help. We called the local GM dealer, because I heard they can contact GM, get whatever it is they need , and cut us a key. The local service desk says they can't, because its a Geo-not really GM and he can't input the vin#. Does anyone know what we can do?

I'd give the Toyota dealership a call. No, really.
That's a Corolla in disguise.
Find a better locksmith. Any competent one (not just a "locksmith" from the back of PM, if they still advertise there) can open that door in seconds. Some police departments will come open it for you. Some will charge a little for that.

I used to have to break into mine the old fashioned way.
(Keep in mind, I do NOT recommend anyone try this at home)
Nice thing about that chassis is the doors are made out of the cheapest tin Toyota could buy. Which means, the door frames around the window are pretty flexy. You're gonna need a big ol' screwdriver, a wooden wedge (Or something similar) and the ol' coathanger. Take the screwdriver and stick it between the door frame and the roof of the car, and pull it apart. Once you have enough room, you jam the wedge in there, so you don't have to keep holding the screwdriver. Bend your coathanger into a roughly checkmark shape (or a V with one side REALLY long) and stick it down in there. If the car has manual locks only, you can use the tip of the coathanger to wedge onto the lock button/knob/whatever itself, and carefully creep it up til it's open. If the car has POWER locks, pretty sure you can figure out what to do. Another option is if the car is manual lock only, you can actually bend the coathanger into sort of a U shape, and go around the glass from the bottom, and come up next to the lock on the inside of the car.
I wish I was at home, I have one of these in my driveway I could take pics of for you to explain it better.
Sounds just like how i used to break into my Tercel. Just don't have the cops roll into the parking lot, and then NOT have your registration, and an out of country tag that they can't run... If you do the above, hope that your brother is dating a local officer's daughter. Then, it takes a bit of time, but gets sorted without a trip in the back of the officer's car.

I can get into the car using the above described method. Thanks! The problem is what to do once we're in. No key =no start. I'm good friends(socially) with the Chief of Police, so that's not a problem.
UPDATE: After calling 9 Chevy and Toyota dealers to no avail, I got a hold of a chevy parts guy that took the time and actually got the code for the needed key, after looking up the VIN#. Now the problem is that no one has the key blanks that fit in stock. The best I can do is tomorrow.
four responses in about 20 minutes. You guys are amazing! Thanks.

I was dumb enough to lock my keys in THAT car enough times, I learned quick. Now that I have its younger brother at home, I just leave it unlocked.
you actually locked a Geo?
why?
'Splain to us all here what happened to the keys ? Did Aliens from Roswell run off with 'em ??
Seriously, I have trained myself that I can't shut the car door without the keys being in my hand...
