I found the below Hella 2117 indicators, which are very close to the originals used on Porsche 906s. I'm shooting for "as original as financially possible" with mine, so ~18 per is pretty attractive and these are the current version of the NLA part, so even better.

I messaged the nice German fellow from the link about the cost of their Worldwide shipping and he says they don't ship to the US. I've found the same part in the US for $99 each. I need a hook up in Germany or another source similar in price. Australia is a possibility, but I've had 906 tail lights on order from there for a while and they've yet to arrive, so I'm a little reluctant spend money on an unproven channel.

These were somewhat popular with VW buses as add-ons. Maybe they're also used on something else or maybe there is a US part number Hella uses. Maybe someone can sweet talk German to the guy?

Set the country to Germany, they ship to to your new german address, and then forward the product to you! I've never used it, but I have heard it works well.

That's the same seller. Excellent price and will look perfect on a 906, but no dice to the US. If I had another eBay user name I'd ask if he ships to Canada.

And as a diluted German, I think we can be nice. It's just that the genociding and guttural language make it hard to make new friends sometimes. I don't hablo vous der linguaggio so I can't get anywhere with the eBay guy.

I have a few contacts in Europe.... I had a similar problem with getting a set of Hella DE2000 lamps from a Danish bidding site. My frineds bought them and shipped them here....

would be far easier then the engine.... I promise

Shipping from Australia to US. is not great, but not the worst out there. Any idea of over all size and weight?

I posted a link to a website that gives you a German P.O. Box and then forwards you your package... It really doesn't get any easier

As an undiluted German I do speak the language but that's unlikely to resolve the issue. A lot of European ebay sellers don't ship outside their country or outside Europe, usually because of bad experiences in the past. Plus, German sellers often don't like to take Paypal - there isn't really any need for it as it's much cheaper (often free) to do a bank transfer and much more secure, plus you don't end up with Paypal randomly holding on to your money.

As mentioned I'm visiting family over there in early October, if you can't get hold of the lenses before then ping me and I'll see if I can work out something.

Excellent lead, old school. I still feel bad regarding the 911 engine. Nobody came out ahead on that one. I am reluctant to make you and your friends middlemen. I am persuing the link. That said, I have found an Aussie that will ship two lights for $61US delivered. If the link doesn't pan out and you want the abuse AND you think you can make it worth your while, we can discuss your German contact. On a related subject and since you google well, if you can find part SBBL 35-10 CB, I have some dollars waiting for you...

Mr. 2, I investigated the link you posted and it seems that service is for Germans that want American goods, not the other way round.

Two of these lights are under a kilo and fit in a 6 inch cube. It's around $25US to have them shipped from Aus., which is reasonable. But like I said, the tail lights haven't arrived yet so I'm holding tight.
