Doing an LT swap in my '89 Caprice wagon. Using a motor from a '94 Caprice that has the passenger side mount offset to the rear. Looks like none of the holes in my frame line up to where I need to move the mount. I'm pretty sure I can drill new ones if I can figure out how much that mount is offset to the rear.

Does anyone know where to find that dimension or have a way to measure that for me?

Here's some pictures to show what the issue is.

My '89

And the '94 donor car

Unfortunately the donor car is about an hour away and probably has another engine in it by now or I would just measure that frame.

Any help would he appreciated. Thanks.

Are you keeping the A/C?

Are you about to tell me that I can take the AC compressor off and find the holes in the standard position and therefore didn't have to fight with taking the mount off of the frame?

....Maybe?

I don't remember if the LT1 blocks have the standard engine mount position provisions.  BUT... if they do, you can measure the difference and move the chassis side that much further back.  I did that on an LS swap into a truck a while back, worked fine.

Ok so at the very least this 4.3 block doesn't have the standard location holes. I was about to try measuring from the bellhousing flange to the back if the clamshell on both sides and then taking the difference. I don't have immediate plans to run AC but having the option to put it back easily is definitely a plus.

The LT1 blocks do have the standard engine mount position on the right side (put one in a 67 El Camino), no experience with the 4.3 version.

LT1 Corvette accessory drives put the AC in a better position, with it on the drivers side and higher up.
