Hi I'm trying to classify a car for solo it is a 1972 mallock mk11 clone with a kawasaki zx1100 engine wheelbase is 83 inch ,would it fit in Bmod or have to go to Amod? Also do you have to qualify at a major regional to compete in Nationals?? Car is similar to one in the picture.

as long as the car is 1020lbs w/ driver, it should be eligible for B-mod, I'd imagine it would make it in under the old FS/FA regs. basically anything is A-mod eligible as long as it's 900lbs w/ driver, has at least a 72" wheelbase, I believe at least a 42" track width (don't quote me on that quite yet...), has a total wing area equal to/less than 20sqft, and doesn't have active/unsprung aero. B-mod adds some restriction on top of that and changes the wheelbase requirement from 72" to 80", likely increases the width requirement to suit, bumps the bike engine minimum weight to 1020, and adds other minimums based on engine size and configuration

Somewhere around page 147 I think. I'm in the midst of doing the same think. The modified classes seem to be a dumping ground, one little alteration will bump you up the scale. Just found out that fiberglass rocker panels will affect my "tub" designation.

The SCCA sure is fussy . . .
