So I'm trying to space out my quick release steering hub so that it doesn't interfere with my turn signal assembly. I did test fits using various lengths of PVC but I'd like aluminum for a final part.
So i'm looking for a 3/4 id and ideally a 7/8 OD but I could go as large as an inch.
Total length? Thickness? size. 1/4 or so.
I can't seem to find anything. I'll cut down a larger bushing if I have to, but I'd prefer not to.
Any leads?
Does Speedway Motors have anything?
Wehrs Machine does alot of custom machine parts for circle track racing, they may have something.
Grant Steering Wheels maybe?
what about a spacer from a mountain bike or road bike to make it single speed? They are usually aluminum
Or a headset spacer for a bicycle with a 1" steerer tube. These are aluminum and come in various heights. Most bike shops will have some on hand that you can eyeball.
I have a lathe and some aluminum. I'm a terrible machinist but I'm pretty sure I could handle that if you can't find anything suitable.
No google foo but I've got more misc. hardware than anyone really should. Old school BMX crank spindle spacers/gear adapters fit your specs and might be an easy way if you've got a bike shop or vintage BMX guru nearby. I could mail ya some if you can't find locally.

Ninga edit: Old school Profile BMX aluminum crank spindle spacers are 3/4" ID and 1" OD. They come in varying thicknesses so you could stack to your exact height.

Sounds like you need a slice of tubing.

Well done, I can't believe it took this long
3/8 is still too big. I wound up grabbing a bronze nflanged bushing for a couple bucks.
Throw it in the vise and hack the excess off.
debur it and level the end out and I think that'll work.
and here's the verdict:
Yeah... that looks like a winner...
