I need to get some tires to put on SWMBO's car but I realized I know nothing about non-performance tires. She has a Saturn Vue AWD V6. Tires are 235/60-17. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Any old brand name "touring" tire will do in Alabama. Just get whatever tirerack says is decent and fits the budget.
What year is her Vue? I did not think they offered a 17". My Vue has 16". My 4cyl, manual trans has the smaller 215-70-16 instead of the fatter 235-65-16. What I like about the smaller size is that car tires are offered. In the larger size the only thing offered is light truck tires. From what I read the truck tires tend to ride like a truck. Imagine that...
I am happy with the 70k mile rated kuhmo KR
Khumo KR21s that I just bought through tirebuyer.com which were $100 each, mounted. Size 215-70-16

As long as the load range is good enough. Vue's aren't really heavy enough to need LT tires.
