My daughter asked me to help fix a headlight on her friend's Honda CR-V. I need to order a few things, but am not sure which model it is. I haven't seen the car, so I asked my daughter to send me a picture of the driver door VIN tag. The production date is 4/2002. Does that mean it's a first or second gen? 2001 was the last year of the former and 2002 was the first year of the latter. I don't know Hondas well enough to figure it out.

EDIT: I found a VIN decoder online just now. It appears to be a 2002 model.

Generally late summer to fall of the year before starts the model year. So in this case 2002 model year production started summer/fall of 2001.

If you need anything else, I could have the vin run at work tomorrow.
