Okay, help part 2.
Should I pop for the twice-the-price known goods, or try the half-price unknowns?
Is this for permanent installation, or something that you will be pulling out before it wears out? If you can't say for sure than go with the known good, stuff so you won't feel bad about not getting back to that part of the project for a few more years. (Because thats how long it takes me to get stuff done ).
When the difference is only $35 each, go for the Aero chambers.

Chambered mufflers it is!
I realized that A: my stock pipes are 2 1/4" and 2: they are dented to oblivion, so I chopped them completely off. I'd *love* to swing headers, too, but that's probably not smart right now. For now I think it will be Summit's chambered mufflers (in 2 1/2") with some turn downs.
I gotta call Rob's Rod Shop first and see what he has. Gotta support the GRM advertisers!
Thanks for the plug! Did you get the voicemail I left for you?
We didn't talk about it yesterday, but there's always something like this:
Or this:
After the exhaust is done are you road-tripping to Florida in it?
not the cheapest but if you have space concerns flowmaster/hushpower hp2's work very well for their small case / high ground clearance design. I'm using one on my E30 track rat and it does a good job to keep the noise levels tolerable but still lets you be "heard":

its not a thundering V8 but and I6 with no cats isn't the easiest thing to keep quiet, I find that these do a nice job considering the system ends under the car so the muffler is where the cat once was...
I've had Areo Chambers on two vehicles and loved them. They get my vote.

Rob,
Yes, I got your voice mail, and since you're checking this, can you price out the Hooker Aero Chambers for me? I'm definitely getting one or the other from you, so let me know.
No on 70's sidepipes though. They look okay on the 68-70 AMX, but downright funky on a humpster!
In reply to Javelin:
I'll price 'em out for you in the morning.
Thanks!
Rob,
Call me after 9AM my time and let me know. Thanks!
