I just have a thing against buying knock-offs.
I'd rather support the company that actually does the R&D and creates a new product.
I agree. In addition, the problem I most often see with knockoffs is that since the copying company didn't do the r&d, they sometimes exclude certain original design elements because they don't understand why they were used. Almost always these features are there for a reason, and sometimes they are critical.
They are in the car and have been autocrossed. I used a pair of Corbeau seat brackets for the 944 and the bolt pattern was still a little off for these seats. If I was able to cludge up a solution, then so can you.
I gotta be honest, these are beefy feeling seats. They were nice and comfortable for the 100 miles of street driving and made 8 autocross runs with no sweat. They feel more solid than the 26 year-old OEM seats did (due to age/usage).

Maybe I missed it...how much do these knock-offs weigh?

Bryce,
I actually never had a chance to weight them, but the shipping labels on the boxes said 35Lbs. They definitely feel about half the weight of the original power seats in my 944.
Unfortunately, it looks like the company I got them from now only does legitimate Corbeau seats.
