We finally have a new venue for rallycross in NE Ohio! The course will be in the field between the kink and the road. Come out and play in the dirt!
Registration through MSR: https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/2022-neohio-rallycross-event-1-nelson-ledges-scca-148452
I looked at the link it didn't say anything about spectators.
That is a deal! unfortunately for me I don't think a kart will pass tech
Will you be doing any more events?
In reply to DrMikeCSI :
Spectators will be allowed, just will have to sign a waiver to get onto the property as well as the SCCA waiver.
In reply to trigun7469 :
I'm running tech... so... you never know.
In reply to HopmanJones:
I'm not running the program anymore but I don't think there's anything else lined up for 2022. Hopefully the site goes well and we can run more at Nelson next year.
I would be be down to make the trip there next year if it happens and I know I can drag a couple other competitors from central PA with me.
In reply to HopmanJones :
We'd love to have you!
Up to 14 entries! Let's see if we can get up to 20

I would really like to make that, but that's a 5 hour trip. I'll have to watch that space for next time, though, because we could combine that with a trip to see the outlaws.
In reply to wae :
Same. Well, only 3.5 hours, but still. Maybe if the weather was a bit better or it wasn't between two weekends of travel for other events. Also we haven't actually driven the rallycross car in like a month or more, it could have done any number of Subaru things in that time and be broken.
Too bad it's the same weekend as Lemons @ Gingerman. I'd totally make the drive to come play in the dirt with some of you Ohio folks
Hopefully next year there will be more events at this location, planned further in advance but we work with what we've got! Just happy to be running there.
We're also looking for people to come out and volunteer to help. So even if your car isn't ready, come hang, take in some good rallycross action and help out!
So much grass.
Note the grass wrapped around the axle.
Found out why I had only 20psi oil pressure at idle instead of 45. Oil cooler is behind all that!

Looks like some Grassroots Motorsports to me
In reply to adam525i :
grassroots, grassstems, grassblades.
I wish I'd know about this a lot earlier. I haven't been to Nelson in 30 years.
In reply to DrMikeCSI :
There was a competitor there in a stock Miata who was apparently leading in points in the time trials racing going on yesterday but he opted to rallycross instead.
Nice driving, Pete. Sorry I couldn't stick around to ride along.
Some great shots of the event. https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=410828204576082&set=pcb.410832327909003
I can be seen in the background of one picture googling "how to traction". I didn't find the answer.

I did.
Rear weight bias, chonky tires, and an inability to lift.
