While looking for new spy shots of the 2015 Alfa Spider I found this:
Of course it's total speculation, but a new, lighter miata with italian styling and a fastback roof is extremely mouth watering. Now that the Pininfarina 2uettottanta sheet metal is pretty much ruled out I wonder what the styling is really gonna look like.
I wonder what the PRICING is going to look like....
I wonder if it will have a rotary. If so, me =
I'd much rather have a hardtop then a roadster or spyder.
But it seems to me that a miata based chassis would be a bit to small for a modern GTV.
OTOH, I kind of like how small '70s and '80s cars were compared to thier modern counterparts, so if they make a miata chassis GTV more power to them!
If I was Mazda, I'd be embarrassed how much better looking that is than the MX-5.
Italian style with Japanese reliability.... now if they could somehow price it in the Twins territory....
sign me up... take my money...
of course how many people are going to say it is ugly once they see the Alfa Grill?

Only people who are blind and stupid would say that...
The grille is great, the headlights are too small though. Makes it look like some cave dwelling blind fish or something. Those are very much "concept car" headlights though.
Looks like a mini F type. Might even be a F-type Photoshop the way that back end looks.
This is the Alfa that I could get behind but they always screw it up in the pricing.
Oh yes, do want. That would fulfill my promise to myself of owning an Italian car in my lifetime.
Does anyone else see Mazda as a Japanese Alfa Romeo? Even their new design language has an Alfa-esque grille now.

I will say that It might work better in coupe form but that's not attractive to me.

That's the Pininfarina 2uettottanta concept. The story is Fiat has already ruled that out as too hard to build as a production car. It was beautiful for sure. Who knows what the new Alfa will really look like, but a hardtop with a fastback roof line goes a long way in my book. If it does get built and they do call it a GTV I guess that will be a break with tradition since it won't have 4 seats.
I pulled it up because the rear is almost identical to the GTV in the OP
Had an original 1750 with the twin webers back in the day. I miss that car.

ultra small headlights seem to unfortunately be in right now. Ive seen some concepts where they look like cell phone flashs.
If its a 2015 vehicle there wont even be a prototype vehicle out for quite some time, and especially not in the states.

I did too.... the Alfa's reliability was always open... another thing open were the exhaust valve seals Mine use to burn nearly a quart every 250 miles... and that doesn't even bring into the picture how my friend opened a rear window.... and it flew away
my love/hate relationship was part of the reason I went to the AE86... twin cam engine... fr layout, 4 wheel disc brakes... FUN.... while being affordable
So if the new GTV has reliability and a decent amount of build quality and is priced somewhere in the Twins neighborhood... count me in
