Has anyone here driven a new Camry? Someone at work is looking at them and had one here at lunch. I had been recommending a Mazda 6, but she is set on the Camry. It looked nice and I noticed they even have a TRD version, this one wasn't one of those however. Looking at the sticker it gets pretty decent fuel mileage. Wish I had driven it, just wondering about them really.
Nice car with a great interior (in my opinion). I haven't driven the current one but i do know they aren't any faster than much older ones in spite of having more power and almost twice as many gears. That means you get to spend about 30% of your time listening to it slurring its way between gears you'll only be in for one second, and im sure that would drive me nuts. Big upside for turbo torque and 'only' 6 gears in the Mazda, imo. But, for people who never floor it im sure that doesn't matter.
I love Camrys. There, I said it.
There is something just inherently right about the way they drive and I really enjoy them, compared to just about everything else in the rental fleet.
I always look for one in the rental corral, or at least I did back in The Before Time, when people used to fly places and rent cars.
I like the looks of the new ones, they've certainly come a long way from the tired boring vanilla design
They look decent and the V-6 is fantastic. I'm sure it's a nice car to drive as long as your expectations are appropriate.
Personally I think I prefer the Accord, and if Honda still offered it with a V-6 it would be a slam dunk for me, but the V-6 in the Camry would lure me into a dealership for a closer look.
The Sonata is a better car, but some people don't want to stray from the Honda/Toyota mantra theyve been told for decades. I'm sure if they're not a car person, the Camry will be perfectly adequate.
Love the new camry.
red leather interior
pano roof
quad pipes.
who needs M3!
in all seriousness - we put 1100 miles on a 2019 camry in alaska.
asbolutley loved it. Bladder busting range. Comfortable drive. Loved in car wifi in remote areas
heck current camry is better than our ls430 and ls460 and ls600hl from driving dynamics points of view
I would get a current base model (dirt cheap) in a heartbeat. Will last 20 years
Sarah loved the TRD version. I'm kinda impressed says the guy who has only bought base model new cars.

Styling is 110% subjective but the front of the red one in the video above gives me nightmares.

+1, I am not a fan of the origami styling Toyota is clinging to.
I wish they would have done TRD stuff on the 2012 body style. That's still one of the better looking Toyotas ever made, in my opinion.

For sure.
I have a 2016 SE 4 cylinder - quiet, comfortable, reliable, excellent base model stereo. Not slow, even with the 4-banger and the conventional auto, gets 40+ on the highway, 33-35 average per tank. Added a Progressive rear sway bar, which means it now feels like a very slightly more nimble Camry.
When you have an SW21 at your disposal, it's nice to be able to just relax to and from work.
To me the Camry has been the everything I don't want in a car. My ex had one in the '90's and I hated it. This one though looked pretty good. I have never seen a TRD version in person, and I may want to drive one when it comes time for a new DD. Woman at work ended up buying it, so maybe I will get to drive it soon. I'm either getting old or they are getting better.
Back in 2018 I rented a then new Camry and a new Malibu back to back when I was on vacation. The Camry was good, but I actually preferred the Malibu, it was a much more comfortable highway cruiser. Both were 4-cylinder models, and while i liked the Malibu more i'm fairly certain the NA large displacement 4 in the Camry will prove more reliable in the long run than the boosted 1.5 in the Malibu.
