I bought my oldest daughter her first car last night, a cute little Accent:
Its in superb condition for its age, and very basic; wind-up windows, manual door locks, etc. Slow as molasses, but plenty enough power for a new teen driver. She loves it.

Auto trans - her legs were too short to get the clutch all the way down when she tried my car.
My 11 yr. old is 6 inches taller than my 18 yr. old.
The first car, what memories. In fact I still have my first car packed away in my garage waiting for me to get off my ass and restore it.
Great choice, that body style is super reliable, doesn't look rusty either! If you want OEM Hyundai parts, Let me know! I work at Hyundai in parts
Car looks like a nice buy...
Short stature is no excuse for getting an automatic. Got these for the wife.
In reply to jstein77: Wow! I can't believe your daughter is 18! The old Central Florida gang has been playing with cars for... a really long time! The Accent looks like a good choice. Best of luck to the whole family!
Nice! It looks good, and should serve her well!
DD#2 asked me for a few specific items when we were shopping for her first car - not too small, 4 doors, good visibility, upright seating position. I ended up buying her a cheap '97 Celica, which matches exactly none of those criteria. I may trade that for an '88 325i sedan, though. Not exactly large, but meets the rest of the specs.

Hi Danny! Ain't that the truth - 32 years for me, even longer for you, as you were already a nationally competitive driver when I started. Your daughter must be, what, late 20's?
