I've got a new to me Fox body muskrat, Its a 81 4 speed, inline 6. Runs good... I also have a built high compression 460 big block ford. I have a roller block 302 also, Question is this: could I make the car handle even remotely well with the BBF under the hood without spending retarded amounts of cash?
How much money is "retarded amounts"? Griggs Racing has some packages in the $2500 to $3500 range that should help a lot.
Griggs and Steeda will be your friends...
I was wanting to keep the suspension budget under 1200, I know Griggs is good stuff. I heard you can get later model mustang stuff that helps out a ton and it bolts on to the older Fox bodies

In reply to Vigo:
I believe it was a 3.3 liter thing that put out something around 100 hp.
When I had my 93 Fox and was looking for parts $1200 was about the minimum to make it handle. Maybe if you can find some ebay and used stuff you might be able to come in around that figure. Check out Maximum Motorsports too, they are not cheap but they have great stuff.

with a 460, handle is relative. do you want it to go in a straight line or were you hoping to turn at the end of the strip?
IF you can find one wrecked, the 93 cobra was the hottest fox body out there from the factory.
Good luck, I saw one last week and it was no where near wrecked.
The inline 6 is rocking about 85hp. I "heard" that if you have manual steering and man brakes that it has the same Front/rear weight as a stock iron headed 302. My car already has manual brakes and such
It seems like it is going to be difficult to make the car do anything but understeer in the corners because of all that weight up front. You could move the battery and use lightweight body panels up front to try to balance it out a little. I don't know anything about Mustangs in particular.
I'd focus on picking up some used Maximum Motorsports pieces, the rear suspension is the key to making a Fox handle.
alright. Thanks alot guys
