Read about this yesterday. Makes me hate being poor.
I've already got the rear 3/4 shot as the desktop on the work computer.
Hmm. What do you think the cost of ownership over a decade would be? Are these likely to appreciate?
Asking for a friend, who doesn't have the money anyhow.
When the last GT4 debuted, an exec I work with told me that the local Porsche dealer (a neighbor of his) dropped one off at his house to drive for the weekend to tempt him into buying it, but he had passed on making the purchase because he wasn't really in the market for a coupe. He ended up buying a Cayenne Turbo instead.
For giggles, go take a look at the depreciation of a used Cayman GT4 vs a used Cayenne Turbo. The cheapest GT4 advertised on AutoTrader right now is listed for $85K which happens to be what the starting MSRP was for these cars back in 2016. Today 2016 Cayenne Turbos start from $62K, which is half of what they sold for new.

Buy a 981 GT4 then, it's essentially the same car and has already done most of its depreciation. If you want appreciation you want a 997 GT3 since that's the last GT car that's actually rare. Cost of ownership should be relatively low as long as you don't do anything dumb like get the carbon brakes or drive it hard enough to shoot the strut towers through the hood.
I looked at buying one of these when they were new. While list price was well under $100K, almost all of the available cars were premium priced. The one I looked at in Canada was asking $140K Can, and it had been used for something like 5,000 miles (don't know what happened to the first owner - maybe he scared himself in the car).
