There have been lots of ownership changes since those names were new. Maybe they no longer own the rights to the names.

Because they actually did re-use those original colors on the Charger, Challenger, etc. Dodge is awesome like that.

+1 on needing a review, I think the Dart presses a lot of good buttons!

Yep, Plum Crazy. Got a friend who's into old Mopars and old Harleys. He restored an old bike and painted it Plum Crazy.

AKA "In Violet"

Rumored to have been suggested: "Statutory Grape".

Blasphemy!! You must spend the day in a rental Smart Car as penance.

Edit: Saw the orange the other day. Overall, not a bad car, but the front end was still "Stratusy", and not in a good way.

But the Alfa and the Dodge are twins when you have them on a rack.

I'm really curious to see the inevitable SRT verison... I'd love to see it under the SRT brand as a Demon..

I really like the Dart.

GRM needs to get one of these ASAP so they can give us the lowdown.

I drove a Rallye with the 1.4 turbo and 6-speed. It was a little soft off the line, but once moving was a lot of fun. I really liked it too. Size was good. Proportion wise its a midsize to me, and that's what I'd like to have.

I'm waiting to drive an R/T version. The release keeps getting delayed. But that's OK, I'm not ready to bring one home just yet either.

I've seen an interview with the Tigershark engine design team where they commented that they were planning a turbo (or possibly supercharged) version of the engine from the start. A SRT Dart would be the most likely place for it.

It's the same color. Dodge's version was Plum Crazy, Plymouth's was In-Violet. All of the colors were like that (Sublime/Dodge = Limelight/Plymouth; Go-Mango/Dodge = Vitamin C/Plymouth; etc, etc).

That's been a great piece of urban legend for a LONG time. Would have been awesome if they had the huevos to have actually named it as such.

The Dart seems like a really viable car. Nice, current, relevant design, a decent spec at a really reasonable price. Bravo to Chrysler for utilizing Fiat's resources so well.

And the rest of the world cried, as Americans forced manufacturers to make a body style with no practical use (small sedans are useless).

Kidding... mostly... this thing would be 1 million times cooler if it came in a hatch, which speaking of, Dodge doesn't even offer anymore in a small-ish size (minus the micro-sized fiat 500).

Plymouth had Curious Yellow (Y3 paint code) in '71. Named after the movie "I Am Curious (Yellow)".

This is another car I wish was around when I bought the 3. I would have most definitely considered it. It does remind me a bit of the Cloud Cars and the Neon, but whatever. Plus, it's Italian-American, just like me!

Have you guys heard the turbo Tigershark engine yet? It sounds MEAN.
