Looks like we're going to have a special treat at the Ultimate Track Car Challenge: a public showing of the new car for the forthcoming Formula Lites Series. What is it? A new all-composite, monocoque racer built by Crawford Composites. Power comes from Honda, while Pirelli supplies the tires.

The Formula Lites car will be running during lunch on Friday and again after the UTCC's timed runs. Will it outpace the field? Come and find out. Tickets are $10 and can be found here.

Also, the car will be accompanied by some heavy hitters from our world. Dane Cameron will be driving the car, while the Crawford Composites guest list is expected to include Elliot Forbes-Robinson, Max Crawford and David Cooper. Dennis McCormack from the Formula Lites Series will also be there.

Whether you're at the UTCC as a spectator or participant, here's your chance to see, smell and taste the latest purpose-built race car on our scene.

Is it a bad thing that this car looks better than the current Indycar chassis?

No idea if it's a good or bad thing, but I absolutely agree.

Agreed--- that's a beautiful race car. It reminds me of the awesome CHAMP cars of the 90's.

I saw the prototype in the flesh (carbon?) at MSX. It really is a sexy beast.

Maybe it will be the indycar bodywork of the future, when they open up the rules.
