Just passed one on I75 south, about 8 miles into TN. Who's got it?
That's David. He's posting updates to our Facebook as well as his own (David Wallens). He and Mazda PR guy Dean Case are driving south to Florida after we did some testing of the new car at The Tire Rack yesterday. They should be hitting Tail of the Dragon right about now.
Speaking of David heading home, we're having a get-together in Daytona tomorrow night to give readers a first look at the new Miata. 6 p.m. at Lime Fresh Mexican on ISB. Details at the Facebooks.

Just like the pictures. It doesn't look small as long as it's not next to any other cars.

has anybody called you a smartass yet today?
That's a legit comment. Some cars (like some people) look small or big in isolation. Some transcend scale. The fact that the car rolls on unfashionably small 16" or 17" wheels probably hides the size.
What an epic road trip David is taking in the new ND! Tire Rack autocross course. Tail of the Dragon, scenic mountain roads, highway miles, a few meet and greets along the way and maybe some turns on a track somewhere(?). This should make for a great article that covers how the ND handles in all the driving environments where you typically see the Miata.
I cannot wait to read it!
I just couldnt make room in my day to make the drive to the Dragon to see the ND. I did leave a message with Killboy to expect the drive thru and he has posted on his facebook that he got to make some pics.

Just after 4 p.m.
I have seen the car in person and it looks much better in person but I still can't get over how much the front grille looks horrible in photos.
