For sone reason it no longer shows in any of my searches
The 1.6t is one of those engines I always see come up as an option in Alldata when loading a car, but I never see one in the wild. Might have seen one in an SUV? But generally everything is 2.0 or 2.4 and it feels like half the vehicles I work on anymore are Kia/Hyundai.

I mean they were in veloster, elantra gt, elantra sport, forte sx, optima, sonata, Tucson, sport age and Kona so they're not hidden
Turbo soul actually ticks several boxes for me. Not that I'm looking. But I like the funky little hatch, and whoosh noises wouldn't hurt. Do they come with a proper trans?
In reply to barefootskater (Shaun) :
I think only the 2.0l comes with a 6speed manual. The 1.6T comes with a 7 speed dual clutch from what I can se in the build site.

Right. It was available, but it's like, nobody in this area bought them.
One of my friends in points elsewhere was asking me pointed questions about R53 Minis and frisbees and something else, and he didn't believe me when I said I'd never seen one up close.
also, thanks to a few members here I'm considering larger cars with more engines (you know who you are). 1.6T Forte5, first gen big block SX are high on that list.
I really need Tubey to go though.

All I've been doing is researching. Data collection.
Now you know why I resort to spreadsheets all the time... so I have a place to put all the datas I've collected.

Is cleveland just devoid of all things cool?
depends on if you think brodozers, teslas, rav4s, and challengers are cool.
Also, about 25% of the world supply of Sonatas.
So my new plan may have morphed..... anyone in Charlotte, NC area able to look at this? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/437944834278320/?ref=category_feed&referral_code=undefined
It's a rebuilt title (which, for my purposes doesn't really matter much) and I like to see if they've been put together well or not. This one's a bit far for me to do that.
Find out from the seller if he was the one who did the rebuilding. If yes, ask for some "before" pictures.
Get the VIN from the seller. Just a plain ole Google search of the VIN might bring up the copart or IAA old listing with photos in damaged condition.

I asked and he didn't. Also looking at this one:

Dammit. I couldn't find one of those anywhere when I was looking.
This is a good plan. How does the 1.6T survive on track? With ~240whp?

Ugh, would it kill him to get some body photos that weren't dark or shadowy!

Flood damage scares me. It can be the gift (curse) that keeps giving as the wiring harness further decays over time.
Virginia has salt water too.
In reply to John Welsh :
yeah, I think that one (sadly) is off the table for me. Instead I'm back to the first gen hatch in black.
This one is very vague but the only picture gives proof of manual trans.
