It's even a stick shift, too!
Get your popemobile right here folks! At a very challenge friendly price!
its been said he plans to drive it himself too.......
Oh... just another Pope tidbit... He has been calling some of the people who write him and giving them prayers over the phone!!!!

We talked about the popes choice in cars on Turn Left. The pope is urging priests to drive "humble vehicles."
Turn Left is the popes choice in radio shows, because we are of course the humblest around.

I just noticed this picture is sooooo captionable. Look at their faces!
"Why did you buy this piece of junk!?!?"
"It's fun! I like how it looks. And it's so cheap to run and easy to work on."
"Just crash it before you die, OK?"
"I swear to God! It's never been hit."
That's his actual car and he's racked up 190,000 miles on it. HAS to be some kind of Renault record.

Maybe they'll declare it a miracle

Then he'll only need one more for sainthood.
I really like Pope Francis. It is refreshing to have such a humble man in his office.
I would rather him drive an italian car.. but French will do
PHeller wrote: Francis is cool. I could actually see being Catholic with a pontiff like him around.
Agreed. He is so cool I could convert! He seems to delight in tweaking his own establishment. It's hilarious reading quotes from him and then official press releases that follow, trying to wordsmith what he said.
I would love to see cellphone photo/video of him sitting at a stoplight in Rome, driving that car!
Am I the only one that got an image of the pope doing a crapcan or lemons race with his helmet painted to resemble his hat and racing suit made up like the rest of his get up?
Understand it was donated from a priest in northern Italy, odo at 200M miles... he only drove it to church on Sundays
Just learned that the Renault 4 had one side with 3" shorter wheel base than the other
Couldn't think of any other thread to post this useless info in.
mtn wrote: Why would they do that?
So that the car will dart to the right when you let go of the wheel. Safety first. No more head on crashes.
In Reply to GVX: I'm pretty sure they drive in the left lane so it would be head on collisions everytime.
It's a very good thing I am not the pope.
TV shows would be made and novels written to memorialize Pope FrankTheTanks Fleet.
I mean it is a job... and all my money from this job goes to cars so why not the Pope job too.
