Yeah, my 740iL could hustle through the corners like a MUCH smaller car. In fact, the faster you went the better it felt. The 840s are much the same.
There's a '97 on ebay right now for he right price:
ebay 840
The 4.4 liters are great engines. Just don't drive through a puddle deeper than the hood...

Wow. I like the price on that ebay car, given the 160k miles it has!
I'm not looking. . . .nope . . . notgonnadoooeeiiit
I realized that I live down the street from the shop where it was getting cleaned up; I checked it out, and I definitely approve. Nice find!

I'm not scurred of a 160k mile BMW anymore. My E38 had 185k and worked great, and my stepson's E46 had 250k and ran like a top.
I will have another E38 (or an E31, who knows?), oh yes, I will.
Wow I had no idea these cars were that rare
Very nice looking car, I like the new wheels.

We'll have to get together so you can check it out in detail!
I would love to. If you don't have my phone number, just contact me through the Book of Faces.

You got it. I'm on the road a lot over the next 2 weeks, so after that.

Oh my...
I sent the blue car to the g/f... Unfortunately, her recent Volvo purchase has scared her when it comes to cheapest Euro cars from a dealer. I'm guessing when she seriously gets the itch again, she'll go back on the 8-series forums and find an enthusiast owned car and be willing to pay a bit more for a car with better documentation... Of course, I'll then remind her of how well that turned out for me...
I saw a white 8-series during my drive into work today.

My last E38 was a cheap daily driver for the last 5 years and I bought it sight unseen, with no reciepts, from a wholesaler 5 states away.
If you already know what you're looking at or what to look for/ask questions about, you can get good deals from dealers.

Cool. Now you can write a GRM "how to buy" article for the next issue.

For E38s, sure, love to. Of course, it's all on e38.org...
