I've a friend in need of a new ride. She is disabled and uses a mobility scooter that rides on a hitch-mounted carrier.
She absolutely must have a sedan, due to the seat height. SUV, CUV, minivan, truck, are all right out due to entry/seat height.
Nobody wants a person to put a hitch on a sedan anymore.
www.hitch-web.com shows a hitch for the Subaru Legacy sedan with a 350lb tongue weight. That's about perfect. But Subaru of America says the Legacy is only rated to tow 1000 lb, with a 150lb tongue weight.
But the websites for Subaru of (everywhere else in the *&^% world) shows the Legacy as having a 150 kilogram max tongue weight - that's about perfect!
Is this just a case of American nannyism and fear of liability?
Accepting the wisdom of the masses here at GRM, thank you.
