I had a new windshield installed in my car today, and after it was done the car just sat in front of my house, and I looked a couple hours later and it had 2 inch long cracks at one corner. Do I ask for a new one? Or just have the cracks repaired? Its in the passenger side top corner so its not like I will really see it, but I did pay for a new windshield and idk if repairs will be as strong as a new one that isnt cracked.
You didn't indicate if the window was brand new or just new to the car as in from a salvage yard but either way IMO you are entitled to repair or replacement.

Absolutely, without question, call them up and say that you didn't even move the car and it was cracked within hours. They should put another one in just the this one, except without the crack.
was the old windshield cracked in the same place? If so, I think you have bigger problems than broken glass
Install problem if I had to guess. They probably nicked it when they installed it. If a company did it, call them back and have them change it again. If you did it, well...

Wow. Faulty installation, and you are asking opinions on the internet??
Call them and tell them to REPLACE IT.
period.
(although they may also want to consider the continued employment of the the installer)
It was a brand new windshield, that someone else installed. The old one had been in the car since at least the early 90s and wasn't cracked there. I already called about getting a new one, I didn't notice until like 5pm Friday so I didn't actually talk to someone, just left a message. Hopefully they will just come replace it.

Stuff happens.
A reputable company will take good care of you.
If they don't take good care of you, THAT'S the time to start talking about them on the internet.

Notice I didn't say who it was lol. I have seen the person who installed it do others and they did a very good job, my best guess is that the windshield was defective this time. I mainly just asked to see what other people would say about if they offer to repair it vs just putting a new one in.

I'd be hesitant to be happy with a repair, but I'd accept it, if they would warranty it.

I would expect a new one.
You didn't pay for a repaired "used" windshield. You paid for a new one.
End of story as far as I'm concerned.
There's no good way to repair a crack in a windshield. Certain chips can be filled, cracks cannot.
Yeah, he did say he will just come replace it next week, so thats good. Hopefully the new one will be ok lol.
