I really hate looking like a highschooler driving this thing, but maybe I should wrap it pink (I get free car wrap) to REALLY secure myself in my masculinity.

Looking High school would require primer spots, bad tint, and dumb stickers, and ugly wheels.

Sounds like a good buy from what you've written. Put your foot on the throttle and enjoy.

UPDATE:

Purchased and in the garage. I can't begin to describe how happy I am with it so far. I thought it would be in much worse shape mechanically and cosmetically. After browsing forum classifieds, Craigslist, and Ebay for a while, I'm convinced I got a scorching deal.

Thanks all for the encouragement/help.

I'm positive you did. Congratulations.

My friend gave 3,800 for his just like it. He's been DD it for a cpl years. He mostly just whines about the gas mileage and once it popped out of gear and rolled down a hill but that's why I carry a 4x4 with a rope in all my manuals. Never had an E-brake that held.

I think the long nose on those cars looks hideous but that's my only real gripe. I'm a past Z28 drag racer. Fun times, handling does not belong on a muscle car. I say jack up the back as high as it'll go and stuff some cheaters under it with skinnys in the front. (I also had a mullet in HS)

In reply to FranktheTank:

No reason that I can see to add traction. It gets plenty for what I need. Plus, I'd rather lose traction than grenade a rear end at this point.
