I have "a line" on a '91 Sentra E, with a 4 speed manual, and even though I know newer Sentras don't use the 1600 engine, is there a possibility that a 6 speed from a 2.5 or an 1800 Nissan will bolt up to this engine? Are the bellhousings, starter positions, bolt patterns just too far off for this to be a viable swap?
As far as I know, there aren't any viable 6 speed swaps for the GA16DE. It probably would not be too difficult to swap to the 5 speed that the other models came with.
According to someone from sport compact car magazine in something i read a long time ago, the only possible way of putting a 6 speed in a sentra like that is with a japan only transmission and an sr20, but you would have to modify the fram rail becasue it wouldnt clear.
If you get a 5 speed for it, try to get one from a 94, becasue i think the syncro issues were fixed by then.
