Cars are getting powerful enough that AWD is almost mandatory.
You know something is wrong when you have to be careful in a base model cute-ute lest you shred the tires exiting intersections.
And the Chally and Charger SRT appear to be getting the supercharged 6.2L "Hellcat" Hemi engine. Also, from the Dodge slides, they are going to make a Journey SRT model as well.
The next few years are going to be interesting

I dunno. That's why I asked On the one hand, it makes sense because they have the platform, but on the other, would it be different enough?
I have always been a Mopar guy as my Dad was a Chrysler engineer and it's good to see some genuinely good cars coming from them but Chrysler is doing what is has always done. It rides the wave until it crashes and burns. Most of that list, aside from the Dart and 500 are way over weight and too big. As car guys we love RWD and big thumping V8s but if fuel prices spike up and/or something occurs that would interrupt oil flow so many of those vehicles would be dead in the water. Do we need a SRT Journey when there's already a SRT GC? Pretty sure that's not a big seller. Chrysler uses incentives and lease deals to move a lot of inventory (as do a lot of manufacturers) so the numbers look better than they might otherwise be. I don't think the Dart is the answer and the 500 certainly isn't. Sorry to be the Debbie Downer here. I want it to be all rosy, I really do. Just don't want to end up with another K car.
That's funny, I just watched a Dart ad last night and said "man, if that was AWD with low 200's HP, they'd have something."
Since we're talking Mopar, when will the Pentastar V6 get direct injection? My wife and I might wait for 2015/2016 model Grand Cherokee if it's coming...
Looks like that's not coming until they get out a second generation Dart though. I wonder if it's the Fiat based turbo motor, or the rumored Tigershark turbo variant?

Well, the Euro-spec 500 is to the Fiat Panda (below) as the New Beetle is to the Golf, so I'd expect a new Dodge-branded car to be a rebadged Panda.

The Caliber SRT was supposed to be AWD, also, and we all know where that went.

Pretty much none of what was claimed in a E36 M3tier platform than the neon(I didn't think that was possible at the time either)

That's a surprisingly good name for a motor. I'm completely OK with names from WW2 airplanes becoming engines.

I agree 100% they are only the industry leader when it comes to styling, NOT tech. That's a shame. Styling works, but only for a short time. The Dart is about 400 lbs heavier than a 2014 Civic sedan. huhwha??? The Charllenger is almost a Civic heavier than it should be.
I've been, and still am, a Mopar guy. I want to see them succeed, but they are checking their swing.
You guys are all forgetting something. FIAT owns this brand now. The same FIAT that makes burning Ferraris.
Chrysler has let me down too many times in the past 10 years or so. Other than their trucks, it would take a lot to convince me to buy one.
