USPS has always been pretty good, until recently. Packages had even been arriving earlier than anticipated.
I wrote bills on 12/18 and put in the mail 12/19/20. Three of the six bills sent cleared my bank w/in 3-4 days, pretty typical.
Got an email notice that my CC payment was late, it was already sent and w/o another statement I just wait... and wait. My CC was now frozen.
CC check finally cleared on 1/5/21 and I got my CC back, but WTF? Local news said USPS was experiencing delays due to the holiday and Covid circumstances. CC processing may have had delays due to holiday hours but c'mon man, why freeze my card?
I really dunno what's going on w/ USPS lately. No stimuli check and no new GRM issue yet.
1/12/21 and two of the six bills sent out 12/19/20 have not yet cleared my bank. I have received and already sent out the next months utility and CC bills w/ the unpaid balances and late fees.
No stimulus check or GRM issue yet.
If the other checks had not cleared the bank early on I could suspect my mail sent was stolen from the box, but not the case. Who the berkeley wants to steal my electric bill? Just gotta let it go as MIA.
Electronic bill pay has made worrying about monthly bills getting lost in the mail a non-issue.
I received my cable/internet bill today, it was due on Jan. 4. If they cancel my porn I'm really going to be pissed!

Received the latest GRM issue yesterday. A neighbor two doors down received it and walked it over.
Two bills sent on 12/19/20 still haven't cleared my bank, that's 3.5 weeks. That is really dropping the ball USPS.
Another local news story today of widespread late and missing mail, USPS says Covid related issues w/ staffing.
Me thinks I'm gonna hafta go electronic bill pay.
Shipments seem to be going through, although slower than paid for. I sent out an eBay sale via 2-day Priority Mail on Monday Jan 11 from my local PO in SE PA. According to tracking info, it was delivered today to the buyer in SoCal. My other package shipped on Dec 1 is still MIA.
It must be bad for all bIllers. BOA emailed my wife to let her know how much and what date our payment was due on. They must be seeing lots of issues with mail delivery.
We got a Christmas card on Tuesday that was postmarked on Dec 19th - Sent from VA to TX
Right now, the only actual mailed bills I receive are my water (monthly) and sewer (quarterly) bills. All of the other ones I either get email or text notifications, an e-Bill through BOA, or I look it up online when I know the billing cycle has ended before they even send me the bill (physical or otherwise). Then I immediately schedule the online bill pay on the next appropriate pay day. I have some bills scheduled a month before they are due. I am OCD when it comes to paying my bills. If I don't get a bill when I'm expecting to, I've called asking about it. The fact I haven't gotten a bill from the hospital for my ER visit back in mid-October bugs the hell out of me.
USPS seems to pretty much all over the place right now, with lower priority items seemingly delayed a lot.
A parcel from Oregon has made it to the big parcel vortex in Harrisburg, PA within a couple of days of shipping it. Of course, it may or may not escape said vortex in the next couple of days. Had parcel stuck there for up to a week.
GRM and one of my motorcycles mags (which should have shown up several weeks ago) are still unaccounted for, as it at least one credit card bill.
I sent my wife's old passport plus a renewal application and payment in to the processing center in Philly via two day priority mail, using the USPS flat rate mailer. It was supposed to arrive by 1/12. As of today (1/15) it is showing "location unknown" when I run the tracking number. Flipping awesome work, USPS. Not like I had a choice either, as the address is a PO Box.
I just got a Christmas card from my sister postmarked December 12.
I'm waiting on rear shock mounts that have been in transit for 5 days. They only had to go 50 miles! Maybe I'll get them on Monday.
Anyone else still waiting on their January issue?
Yep, still no sign of it. Also still no sign of my copy of RoadRunner (motorcycle touring mag) that was supposed to arrive before the New Year.
There is no January--GRM is 8 times a year, so first issue of the year is February, which mailed Christmas week. Let us know if you don't get it, but it could still be en route since yeahhh--we have received several advisories about USPS on-time delivery dropping. Last one had it at about 75%
In reply to Marjorie Suddard :
Yes that's what I meant. I guess I got confused by CMS being on a different schedule. Thanks! I'll look out for it
In reply to Marjorie Suddard :
The issue we get to read in January then . I'll give it another week or so - the customer service rep at RoadRunner mag who spoke to pretty much mentioned the same thing, that people are still getting magazines mailed around Christmas time. Looks like this issue is affecting a bunch of smaller publishers.
Oddly enough the CMS issue made it OK.
I never got June, got two of Nov.(?), and waiting on current.
I received the Feb 2021 GRM about a week ago or so.
In other news, the USPS finally found the eBay package I mailed on Dec 1. I wasn't able to get an insurance refund, since they wouldn't consider it "lost" yet. My estimate is the buyer will get it early next week (probable delay due to the pending weather over the weekend). Now to see if they hold to their promise of paying me if it did eventually get to them...
In reply to BoxheadTim (Forum Supporter) :
CMS January mailed a month earlier than GRM February, so I'm glad people have it. And don't worry about calendar confusion--I have to check our production schedule to make sure I remember which issues GRM skips. Like, every time.
Margie
I received the Feb. issue on Monday the 25th. So it only took a month to get here. Are we going to go through this again for the next issue?

We got a Christmas card yesterday 1/128/21 postmarked December 4th.
So my last month,, my daughter (who had winter tires) was able to stop for a spinning car but the pickup in back of her slid on the ice and hit her, totaling the car. Guys insurance was pretty good about it and gave her a rental until they settled. They came and got the car, and would send the check as soon as they got the title. Rental car was returned. Sent the title registered mail so she would know they got it. A week goes by and nothing. The insurance didn't get the title yet so she checks with the post office and they said it got sent to the wrong town by accident. It will be there the next day. Another week goes by and nothing so back to the post office. It is registered so there is a tracking number. So on the same day and about the same time,3 guys in 3 different towns supposedly scanned it on their truck but there is no record of it being delivered by anyone, insurance doesn't have the title and the post office has no idea where it is.
Unfortunately still no sign of the paper copy of the February issue. Probably time to drop Nancy a line.
I still haven't gotten Feb either.
