In case anyone is interested. Yeah, I know, the price is too high...

In reply to docwyte:
I paid $10.3k for mine new in 1991, but I did have some extras like A/C, floor mats, mud flaps, etc..
A few years ago, the Honda/Acura dealer down the road from where I work had a red 1989 Crx Si with only 50,000-60,000 miles. I stopped in and looked at it and the thing was almost like new and no rust, which is VERY rare here in Ohio. It was listed for around 7 or 8 grand for a few weeks on their site and Autotrader. I noticed it gone a few weeks later and asked a salesman about it. He said someone flew in from Texas and bought it.
Nice examples have been going up in value over the past couple years. I'll be interested to see where this one ends up and if the sale goes through.
These are worth some money now, and will only appreciate. If it goes for less than $10k, I'll be surprised.
Yeah, I remember $10k for a new one. Considering this is far from new, that's a pretty good deal for the seller.
I think base price for an '89 Si was something like $11,225. This car could be the nicest one out there (though something is funky with that passenger's front fender). He's asking a lot of money, but I sold an '88 Si a few weeks ago for $3400 and this car is clearly worth at least twice that.
In reply to Woody:
Yup. Something is wrong on the pax side. The fender to door gap is probably double what it should be. It is also making the head light look strange.
That's getting a little crazy. You could have a nice classic Mini for that price. I don't get it. So many other things I'd rather have for 9k
Like an S2000 that revs to 9k
There is at least one, or perhaps two, generations for whom classic Minis have very little relevance.
Don't forget that we mow a tiny parcel on the automotive landscape.
I bought a white one like that, last March in San Diego, CA. It took me six months to find someone who cared that it was rust free & had original paint, and was willing to pay the $2500 I needed to break even. Maybe it's because mine was white?
I think these types of sales are the next wave of collector car prices like we saw in the 80s and 90s with muscle cars. There are only so many CRXs left
I'm 37. When this car was new I was 15. This, E30's, 964 Porches, early Miatas, Fox bodies, maybe DSM's. These are the cars that we wanted to buy in high school. 10k isn't a lot to relive your youth.
To me, that car would have to be museum quality for that price, and those pictures aren't good enough to determine that from. So, seems risky for 10k. Ive bought and sold a lot of cars and those pics dont make me all that confident that im seeing everything.

Probably true. I'm guessing this is just the next generation's equivalent to baby boomers paying $70,000 for a decent '69 Camaro SS.
